let's go

Well not the actual title of the song but right in the groove for a Friday night.

It still makes me smile...as do some of the comments.

Reaching even further back into the recesses of the memory, we get
this. Holy moley, there are actually some memories not exterminated by the quantities of beer that used to accompany going to a barn where these blokes might be playing.

Good times....

Go? Go where? nah, oddly enough am quite happy being my 'ancient' 67 year on this planet, old "self".

Young people imagine the future, the middle agers en-act it .. us old twits ponder about it .. heh.

Trouble is, davoh, I still occasionally try to do it. Doesn't work, though.

oh the Seventies. oh dear Glam Rock.
oh dear oh dear - beer barns. Melbourne had some shockers.
The Matthew Flinders for one.

Hope you saw that Phil Spector doco that was on at the same time as the BORIA Awards.
Miss Tina's River Deep and those thrilling Ikettes backing-up was absolutely so worth enduring the madness of king phil.

Missed that doco and the awards Ms O'D, not sure what I was doing. Which applies pretty much all my waking moments, come to think of it...

um, while we're on 'ancient memories' - have just listened to an interview with the female vocal with the 'Seekers'. Sheiss, is she still alive?

The Seekers were my mother's absolutely favourite "modern" (at the time) group. Somewhere in the several tons of family stuff I will find an LP, no doubt.

Father, OTOH, was a Manhattan Transfer fan.

we distributed Manhattan Transfer as they were on Transatlantic, Nat Joseph's label, along with Billy Connolly who we toured in about 1978? when he appeared to be nobody but filled the Dallas Brooks Hall's 5000 seats for 4 nights.
The Seekers had no appeal for me at their height, they were white, and I do recall that they toured after Athol*Guy, MP retired on a pension due to ill health. Judith has a sister who gigged with jazz bands around 1970/1

Let's Go.
Hank Ballard?
Richie Valens?
Prince?
The Cars?
