now I know why you don't blogpost much - you are trawling about at Listomania.

2. the last time you said "go here" I spent a week at Speak Yo Brane fer godsake I'm not falling for that again.

3. checking the composer of that johnny mathis hit, shocked me into awareness that I know melody and lyric of nearly all the great hits of 1956. and the longevity of most of them, nearly ALL of them, explains the copyright rewrite included in that Free Trade Agreement signed by JWHoward for Prez.Bush 43, which extended ownership claims beyond the previously accepted 50 years.

I only discovered listomania last night, the lack of posting is entirely explained by travelling for work and, when I'm not travelling, just work.

The 'hidden' bits of the FTA are a bloody scandal. I knew most of the trade negotiators, they were acting under orders.

Who guessed whose. What a lot of people don't knwo is that the US tried it on a few years earlier under Clinton, so it wasn't just a Howard-Bush wankfest.

Right, let's try that last paragraph again.

so glad to get that info. I sensed it would happen years ago, and 1956 was the year rocknroll turned music into really big money.
We all** know that Old Old (composed more than 50 years ago) music is copyright-free, but it was easy to anticipate that 2006 would not herald free-run on all the 1956 biggies.
That FTA has changed it to "70 years after The Death of the composer". It worries me that ANY goalposts may be moved at any time - STASI anyone?

I am recently appalled by FestivalRecords trying it on ColinHay over a melody THEY DO NOT OWN in any way at all, but expect them to win the rotten incompetent bastards.
